Our Guiding Principles on Privacy
We take your privacy very seriously. Wherever possible we don’t:
- ask for or store personal information, like your full name or email address, unless it is absolutely necessary for the ongoing operation of our services.
- share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, or protect our rights.
Below is our privacy policy, which incorporates these goals.
If you have questions about our use of your personal data please contact our support team.
Website Visitors
Like most website operators, Meet Maple collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. The purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how visitors use Meet Maple.
Meet Maple also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on WordPress.com blogs. Meet Maple only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally identifying information as described elsewhere in this policy, except that blog commenter IP addresses and email addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog where the comment was left.
Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information
Certain visitors to Meet Maple choose to interact with the website in ways that require personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information gathered depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who want to join the Maple Insider Extended Family to provide an email address so they gain access to private pages. In cases like these, we collect such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Meet Maple. Meet Maple does not disclose personally identifying information other than as described in this policy. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.
Aggregated Statistics
Meet Maple may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. For instance, we may monitor the most popular blogs to tailor future blog content.
Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information
Meet Maple discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees or contractors that
(i) need to know that information in order to process it or to provide services available at Meet Maple, and
(ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others.
Some of those employees or contractors may be located outside of your home country; by using Meet Maple, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. We will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees or contractors, as described above, we disclose potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect our property or rights or those of third parties or the public at large.
If you are a member of the Maple Insider Extended Family or Maple Pro Community, we may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with Meet Maple and our products.
If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish the topic, circumstances or select non-identifying phrases in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. We take all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.
